Applying
for Admission
All families interested in Heritage Academy are required to complete the online reservation form to attend the first of two required Informational meetings. Please see the link at the bottom of this page.
Heritage Academy is seeking families and students fully committed to their relationship with Jesus Christ. In the admission process we seek candidates who are actively participating in their local church.
Here are the seven steps for admission to Heritage Academy:
- Attend a UMS Information Meeting: The first step in meeting requirements for admission is for the parents to attend a UMS information meeting. These meetings are held at scheduled times. Those times and dates are posted on the next page which is where the Reservation Form appears.
- Review Material and Pray
- Attend an Admission Meeting: After considering the UMS meeting information and determining that it might work well for your student and family, attend this Admission meeting to learn specific details about Heritage. An information packet that includes the application is provided at this meeting.
- Review Material and Pray Again: Please carefully review the informational packet, discuss and pray to discern if God would have you pursue admission to Heritage.
- Complete Application: Complete and return the application (one form per student). Please note that there is an application fee of $150.00 (plus $50.00 per each additional student) due with the application. This fee is nonrefundable and covers the application process and placement testing. Applications will be processed once all fees, tests, transcripts and references are received.
- Placement Testing: A subtest of the Stanford Achievement Test series is used to evaluate all applying students in math and reading. Some students are required to take additional placement and entrance exams for certain classes
- Student and Family Interview: Interviews are conducted by Heritage staff with the students and parents. This meeting provides you with another opportunity to answer any remaining questions about Heritage. The main purpose is help in determining the fit between Heritage and each student and family.
- Letter of Acceptance: Families are informed by letter or phone of the outcome of their application. Determination of acceptance is based on information gathered via the application, references, test results, and the interview. The key ingredient in our determination is our ferverent prayer and discernment concerning each and every applicant.
